Workplace English Train-the-Trainer

Equip Your Training Team to Teach English

We equip your training team with the curriculum and tools needed to deliver workplace English courses for your employees, making English training more accessible for diverse teams.

Workplace English

Train-the-Trainer

If your organization anticipates hiring non-English speakers, teaching workplace English, or improving the English skills of those ready to be promoted, then this program equips your internal training or HR team with a long-term solution. Instead of hiring an outside organization to provide English classes to your employees, we can equip your training team to bring the English classes in-house, enabling you to offer the classes at the time most convenient to your employees. We provide your training or HR team with all the materials, training, and follow-up support they need to successfully provide English language classes to employees.

How Can This Help My Organization?

Organizations that employ a multilingual workforce (or plan to), and wish to invest in their employees with English classes that are tailored to your working environment will benefit from this option. We offer three different courses which focus on employees in different stages of employment:

English for New Hires

Designed to be incorporated into your new hire training. This material will ensure that new hires learn some of the most important and most used English words in their new position.

English for Existing Employees

Created for employees who have worked for your company for at least 6 months, but who could use some help building their confidence in using English instead of relying on bilingual supervisors.

English for Rising Leaders

Designed for employees who already speak some English and who show leadership potential. If your goal is to promote them into a leadership role, but they need to learn a little more English first, this course is for them.

An organization's strength is its people. With the changing demographics of the workforce and ESL (English as a Second Language) employees becoming more common as demand grows for skilled employees. It will be the company that can bridge the language barriers who will be able to adapt to the changing times more successfully. The Multilingual Workforce team is outstanding! Our first group of ESL employees had nothing but great things to say about the team! In fact, one of the participants elected to bid for an advancement into a supervisory role because of the confidence they learned through this training. My advice is don't think… do! Do a pilot program to see how your team responds to the training. That’s what we did and we’re planning on taking this out to our other sites.

Common Questions

What You Need to Know About the Workplace English Train-the-Trainer Option

Does my training or HR staff need to be bilingual in order to teach these courses?

No, this is a common misconception. Because we want to upskill current employees to communicate effectively using English, it is best if English is the primary language spoken. We have proven methods of working with & teaching non-English speaking employees and we will show your training team how to use these strategies.

What kind of support is there after the initial training?

After your initial training, we will be available for one year to provide email and phone call support to answer any questions that arise. We will also schedule remote observations of your training classes and provide feedback to your instructor.

What is the main benefit of this train-the-trainer format?

Your ability to deliver English language classes internally makes this format cost- effective and it allows your organization flexibility in scheduling classes for your team members. We create the material and train your team to carry it out in the way that best fits your organization.

How much time should we allocate for delivering the English classes?

We recommend holding your English classes twice a week for at least two hours per session. Our material is designed to take 10 weeks to complete. The ‘English for New Hires’ is designed to be offered in a more intensive format. We recommend implementing the ‘English for New Hire’ program over a two-week period, with four sessions per week, each lasting three hours.

If you do not have anyone internally who is able to deliver the English language training and you would prefer our team to deliver this training for your employees, then click here to checkout our Onsite or Virtual training option!
